Lone Star School
no date
Circa 1930s
The teacher in the photo from Lone Star School in the 1930s is Beatrice Pregaldin Hagen, my great-aunt. I don’t know whether she was married to Manuel Hagen yet at the time the photo was taken or not. Uncle Manuel was also a schoolteacher, though where he taught I don’t know. Aunt Bea lived in the area all her life. When I knew her she lived in a house on the bank of the Illinois River, in Calhoun County, north of Hardin, and only a few miles from where she was born. She had two sons, Gary and Duane, both now physicians in St. Louis. Information from Charles Pregaldin.
