John and Marjorie Bostian Cope were early settlers in what is now JerseyCounty, and John is buried in the old City Cemetery. They had sixteenchildren, some born in Rowan County, North Carolina and some in Jersey County – see History of Jersey County Illinois for additional information. Many early Jersey County families count John and Marjorie as ancestors. I have already posted a picture of son George and wife Lucinda Bullard Cope. Attached are pictures of James Cope and his wife Mahalia Whis(s)man Cope and of Joseph and probably his second wife. I have her name as Melvina Warner but name in a will is listed as Amanda. Pictures were obtained from descendants of James and Joseph. Note below that three of the Cope brothers married Bullard sisters. Mike Mourning
