John and Ruth Perry
My grandparents Rudolph and Daisy lived across from the elevator in Jerseyville and I remember spending my summers there and playing on the RR tracks. Grandpa Green had a shoe repair shop on the main street in Jerseyville. Grandma would tell me not to go into the rear of the shop because men played cards back there. I have a picture of him inside the shop, but would like to have one of the outside of it. Grandparents Thomas and Sarah lived by the elevator on the other side of town. They lived right next to the tracks, near the Pilgrim Holiness Church and close to Aunt Nellie Farmer. I don’t remember Sarah, but I do remember Grandpa Tucker, the big old gooseberry patch in his back yard and the store that was on the same street where he lived.
