Joseph Conklin farm house
Joseph Marsh CONKLING , son of Pierson and Hannah (MARSH) CONKLING was born on 16 February 1813 in Warren County, Pennsylvania. Joseph married Charlotte Maria ROSS, daughter of Amos and Lydia (WILLIAMS) ROSS on 17 February 1835 in Reily Township (Butler County), Ohio. Charlotte Maria (Ross) Conkling was born on 30 December 1816 in Americus (Butler County), Ohio. Charlotte died on 19 July 1896 in Jeresy County.
In 1863 the family moved from Butler County to Jerseyville (Jersey County), Illinois. In the mid-1990’s one descendant of this family, Marjorie Conklin TRACY still lived in Jersey County on a farm which was in sight of Joseph’s farm. Both Joseph and Charlotte died in Jerseyville and are buried in the CONKLIN family plot at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

David Ross CONKLIN was born on 14 March 1839 in Reily Township (Butler County), Ohio and died on 6 February 1903 at Jerseyville, Illinois. Lewis Pierson CONKLING was born on 14 May 1842 and died on 25 August 1843.
John Henry CONKLIN was born on 26 January 1845
Amos Lurton CONKLIN was born on 27 October 1849
Lydia Ann CONKLIN was born on 20 October 1851
Laura Belle CONKLIN was born on 7 March 1854 in Reily Township (Butler County), Ohio and died on 18 July 1927 at Jerseyville (Jersey County), Illinois.
