William Campbell Gillham, born 1750, Augusta County, Virginia, died 27 October 1825. Married about 1769 North Carolina. Wife Jane McDOW, born 1750, died 1810. Children: Margaret (Peggy), Jane, Agnes, Sarah (Sally), Mary (Polly), John Davidson, William Campbell Jr. (Scott County), Ezekiel. William was a Representative in the third Illinois Territory House of Repredentatives. William served as a Private and Sergeant from South Carolina and before and after the fall of Charleston, in Brandon’s Regiment. Was the son of Thomas Gillham who was also a Revolutionary Soldier. William died at the home of his son John Davidson Gillham October 27, 1825, Jersey County, Illinois.
