Dear Sir,
Since having thought the matter over I have concluded that you must be some relative on my Grandmothers side of the family, the Bradfords. Will try and give you a history of myself and family. I am the youngest of my fathers family of 8 children. My fathers name was John Catt. My mothers maiden name was Elizabeth Baker. Brothers James, the eldest, John, George, Sisters Elizabeth, Jane, Harriet and Hanner all native of Sussex Co, England, Wartling Parrish. I was born in 1836 came to America in 1853, lived in Jerseyville Ill Enlisted from there in the 14 Ills Inf 1861 served three years three months. Served in Missouri was with Gen Grant at Donaldson, Shiloh, Corrinth, Vicksburg, Harrisonville, LA Champion Hill, Meridian Miss. Discharged 1864 time of service expired.
I have heard nothing from any of my brothers or sisters for ten years think they are all dead, any further information you may require will be glad to furnish and hope to hear from you.

PS My father lived to be 98 my mother 58 I am now 72 years of age I have a family of four children two girls and two boys.
