Gloria in Yuma, AZ Have you run across a marriage record for a Joel Johnson to a Rebecca Jacksonor Cowan? I have a marriage for a Rebecca Cowan who married Thomas T. Jacksonto a Reecca Cowan on Oct 14 1839. In the 1850 census of Green Co I founda Joel Johnson age 37 married to Rebbecca age 30 in the same houshold threesmall Jackson children Lucy age 10 John age 5 and Mary age 2. this familycould be my husband Jackson family. PETTY – RITCHEY RDMcGowen Hello Looking for info on JESSE PETTY, 7 July 1860 he married PHOEBE RITCHEY in Jersey Co., Ill. In the 1870 Census, Phebe Petty age 35, Sarah Petty age 1 & mary Petty age 8 were living with John J. Worthy age 53, James Worthy age 23 & Henry H. Worthy age 20. Phebe is my GGGrandmother. Sarah is my GGrandmother, but I’m not sure if Sarahs father was Jesse Petty or John J. Worthy. I have a copy of Johns will and he mentions his wife Phebe and his daughter Sarah. Can you help? BROWN Eric Thoroman family in Jersey Co., IL:Well, Brown is a common name, but it’s wortha stab. I’m descended from William Sherman Brown (1822-1898) and wife Amanda(Durand) Brown (1823-1895). Their children included Spaulding (1849-1911),Laura (c.1853-c.1893) and William (1858-1925). Laura married Alpheus N.Thoroman, my ancestor. John was probably born about 1820 and possibly died before 1880.Cordelia is found in Schuyler County w/ children and grandson. Childrenliving wither her were born between 1863 and 1870 in ILLINOIS, unknownlocation. Family is not in Schuyler county in 1870. Family associated withfamilies of Daniel and Mary Woods SMALL and John and Mary RUBY whose familieswere in Sangamon County in 1850, apprarently went to Missouri and returnedto possibly Indiana and Illinois by 1880. The bulk of these families wentback to MO after 1880, then Kansas and then Northwest Territory about 1905.

NEFF C. Neff January 16,1997 I am looking for information on Thomas NEFF. The family Bible sayshe was born 2 Apr 1829. He married Sarah GRAVES. They are both buried inthe Girard Cemetery, Macoupin County, IL. He is listed in the cemeteryrecords as being 51yr/8mo/5da when he died 5 Dec 1883. Therefore thereis some speculation as to what year he was born. Sarah was born 16 Jun1834 and died 31 Jul 1898. They are my great grandparents. They had atleast two sons, Everett b. 1867 d. 1919 and William Edward b 25 Nov 1866,d 6 May 1936. William married Hattie Mae GARDNER b 23 Oct 1871, d 7 Aug1964. Wm. and Hattie were my grandparents. All are buried in Girard Cemetery.The 1860 Census records do not list the NEFF’s but according to his funeralpapers William Edward NEFF was born near North Otter. There may be a linkthen to one of the surrounding counties, MORGAN, SANGAMON, MONTGOMERY,MADISON, GREENE, or JERSEY. If you have any information regarding eitherthe Neff or Gardner lines, I would really appreciate you sharing it withme.
